Inspired by a mummy from facebook, I decided to put on the creative cap today. Not really creative la, just copying her idea.
My son is on holiday, hence this was made for myself, by myself.
Steps:
1) Cut shapes you like on foil
2) Place on top of bread
3) Toast it like you normally do (mine is 4 mins)
4) Once done, remove
Keep foil for future use ;)

McDonalds and his integrity
Yes, another post on McDonalds.
They are having the Hotwheels promo. So without much hesitation, P wants to get his hand on all the 4 cars. Imagine 4 cars means I have to visit McD 4 different times. So came the second week, we happily went to McD. After the previous experience, I thought I could be wiser when ordering. So I ordered 1 Value Meal + 1 Toy at RM3. When the lady gave the toy, it was the old stock. She said the weeks new toy is out of stock. So I requested to be refunded. and guess what? She only refunded me RM3 and not RM3.15 with the tax I paid. I demanded for the tax and she sternly said no. It was a packed Saturday and I didnt want to make further noise. Now, my son label this branch as "BAD MCDs"

McDonalds and Being Consumer Wise
Today I decided to blog my thoughts about my experience at McD.
We (both my son and myself) seldom eat McD, however we are patron of their playground. Normally I would buy 1 coffee and 1 sundae cone just so not to feel guilty of using their play area. Every time, I will also ask the counter, you know in other countries, there is Mc Cafe. When you are opening that line of food. You should know why I am asking ;)
..coming back. So today, we decided to have a meal at McD. 1 Happy Meal set for my son because its a toy car now on offer. For me, knowing I cant finish a complete meal, I decided to order ala-carte. The cashier rang RM14. Immediately that caught me thinking..is the ala-carte RM7??? and THEN, before I realized, I cannot change the order as I have paid and rushed off. As I was in the car, another item struck me. Lunch/Dinner Meal starts at RM5.95 (plus tax RM6.30) and I can get Burger+Fries and even a drink. Oh my my...
FYI: I paid RM6.10 for the Fish Fillet AlaCarte. If I ordered Fish Fillet Lunch/Dinner meal, I would have paid RM7.35. (rm1.25 difference for fries and a drink)
Would you order less so not to waste? or would you order what is money worth and give the balance food to others? I am sure 99% of you would buy the complete meal right ;)
Another thing I would like to highlight.
1 Happy Meal set of Nuggets (4 pieces), Small Fries, Small Drink and 1 toy cost RM8.10
1 Set Lunch/Dinner Nugget Meal (6 pieces), Large Fries, Medium Drink only cost RM7.35 (only disadvantage, no toy, but more food)
Does it make business sense? SURE LA for those parents with young kids. But now, I will be smarter. I dont want those China-made toys anymore!!!!
Are you being consumer wise too?

Creamy Avocado Spread on Gardenia's New Range of Bread
Recently, I bumped into Wendy's blog ..again by chance. Not sure whether thru QP or Elin's blogs..but nevertheless, the day when I first stepped in to Wendy's blog, she blog about a very easy dish to prepare. However, I am very skeptical about trying other people's recipe unless they have been tested!!!
I wanted to try her pasta dish. But at the same time, one of thebosses staff at this bread factory gave me 2 loaves of bread. I kept 30% of it cos I know I wont be able to finish it and the rest I gave my office colleagues.
To truly enjoy this fresh bread, is to eat with some spread like Tuna or Egg or some meat. Do check out their recipe website. I then improvised Wendy's recipe.
Ingredients:
1 Avocado (skin & biji remove)
Half Lemon
Mixed Herbs
Pinch of Salt
Olive Oil (about half tea-spoons)
Yoke of hard-boil egg (cos my son didnt want to eat the yoke and I threw in as well)
Step 1 and that's it: Blend all together.
I could not get the puree texture. Maybe not enough liquid? I dare not add more lemon juice just in case it will change the taste of it. and it kept sticking to the side of the blend. I think I spent 30mins opening the blender to scoop down the ingredient to the blade-knife !@#$%
After that, just spread on toasted bread.
Taste: YUMMY...at least for me ;)

New Hang-Out Place for Children: KIDZANIA
Yes, this is definitely the talk of the town now. Kidzania, located at Curve IPC. You wont go wrong as you will see a "crashed" aeroplane just right outside the building.
Since they are very new, they were (still are) running promotions to bring in the crowd. So I took the opportunity to sign up, and WAHHHHHHH I got 2 free tickets. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
The sign-up was very cute. They wanted to know what is my kid's ambition. Instead of me, giving the answer, I asked my kid. This was what he said "I want to open 100-yen shop and sell many snackies (snacks) to people" and indeed, I entered the same sentence.
On 3rd March (Sat), the kid woke up on his own, got dressed on his own and off we went to Kidzania. We arrived slightly after 9am. We got ourselves check-in, then off to McD for a quick bite before boarding :)
After the entire event, I asked the kid what he liked best and he said he wants to be a Mechanic and Petrol Fuel-Man now :( I was actually psycho-ing to be a Dentist or Pilot as they earned more salary. Will bring the kid again to this place. Maybe when his cousins are back or 6 yrs old.

Check-in counter.
Kidzania's concept is to replicate the real life scenario.
Security Tag.
Parents with children below 8 years old must accompany the child inside the centre.
The parents will then be tagged too
We received the boarding ticket,
cheque of 50 kidzo (money) + map
Checking-out where to go
Boarding
Cashing out his 50 kidzo (cheque to cash)
The security stopped me (parent)
and said "No parent inside please"
First Stop: He chose to be a construction man
(following his love for Handy-Mandy)
Second Stop: Painter and he can associate very well cos Nippon Paint was the brand
and he saw Bloppy, a gift I won recently.
So I believe when he wants to paint next time,
he will surely think of Nippon Paint first
3rd Stop: Dentist. I like this alot of there was no other kids there.
So he got 100% attention from the 2 teachers
4th Stop: Surgeon. Although he met the recommended age,
but the "teacher" informed he was too young to understand.
In fact, I asked him a few times if he like being a surgeon, he just shook his head.
5th Stop: Pilot. He said, I fly by KLCC!!! I wonder if its true.
6th Stop: Being a car mechanic. He got to start engine, put oil, water, etc
Last stop: Fuel-man. To put petrol
Around 2+, the little fella cannot take it anymore and wanted to leave. So we left. It was definitely a whole new experience and we still talk about it at home. Before we left, I asked the kid if he wanted to spend his earnings and he said, keep in the bank. So we deposited back all the cash and got an ATM card in return for our next visit.

BYOB Green Concepts
I first heard about BYOB through Sasha' blog.
So what is this BYOB? Read here
In Summary:
1) Keep all your bottles at home, be it shampoo, soft drink bottles, mineral water, etc.
2) Bring to BYOB outlet in Cheras. Hope they will open in PJ soon. I took me 1 hour ++, a few tolls from USJ to reach BYOB
3) In BYOB, their min order is 1Liter per type of detergent. If you go to the FB page, they will list all their available detergents
4) Pay
This is what I bought. Guess how much?
1) 2L of Mop & Shine (for mopping tiles)- will have shiner effect
2) 1L Dettol (to kill bacteria / toilet cleaning)
3) 1L Fabric Detergent
4) 2L Clothes Detergend (Liquid form)
5) 1L Shower Gel
So why BYOB?
1) Because we can re-use the bottles
2) Because its so much cheaper. For the above, if I spent it in Cosway, I will be paying RM69.30. Now I only pay RM16.20
3) The ingredients used in the detergents are biodegradable and save to the earth. Natural ingredients will be slowly introduced.

CNY Ideas from Casahana
Every year, without fail, I will purchase goodies from Casahana because I find their packaging very attractive and easy to managed. All I have to do is pop 2 or 4 mandarin oranges and I am set to give it away for family and friends. I think I have done this for the past 4 yrs???
They have different designs and this year, I remembered to snap photos. I did it just before leaving..at the car..hahaha
NOW TELL ME...ITS PRESENTABLE RIGHT? YOU LIKE RECEIVING SUCH GIFTS? They are so attractive and pretty.
Tada...
Next year, I look forward to their new designs.
Note: I wrote this out of my own experience and because its a good thing, I share :)

This cute little paper hand-bag. Inside contains Oriental Softcake.
RM4
You can just carry the paper handbag or put it in another paperbag which the vendor gave.
Put in 2 or 4 or 6 oranges and you are good to go
