Kitchen Gadgets

I love kitchen gadgets. Gadgets make my life easy because I need to be fast. Obviously I have not been posting but these 4 items were my latest Kitchen family. The airfryer, The Thermomix , The Joyoung and a mini-oven to replaced one that got burned out.

and not yet...I am still waiting for my savings accounts to grow a little and I want to buy a Slow Juicer :P

The airfryer. No need put oil at all. So far, I have made cakes, muffins, nuggest, salmon, prawn crackers, etc. The son also know how to operate this. Yes, on his own. He goes to the freezer, takes the nuggets and fry them.

Joyoung soya bean maker or tong sui maker Fast, easy.

Had to label them cos the unit came from China

The german maid, the Thermomix, or aka TMX

Have used this maid to make cake, steam stuff, stir fry, grind, etc...

Mini oven to replace my old one - spoil.

Usually, during the weekend, the kitchen is the busiest place in the house!

Orange Cake

Over the weekend, we decided to "fry" a cake using our Philip's AirFryer. Logically, the AirFryer works on the same concept as a oven.

The son was particular interested to help out. So I purposely chose a VERY EASY recipe so that he can follow it.

Recipe: Found here

Tools: Thermomix & Philip's Airfryer

Chef: The son

Result: We poured too much batter to the pan. Hence when the cake was rising, it touched the top of the fryer and caused it to burned. Nevertheless, cake came out alright. The son was not disappointed. In fact, he was delighted in his own creation. He ate 5 mouthful pieces and I took some.

I left an inch space to the top. :(

The output

Wanted to salvage by slicing off the burn part.
But as I started cutting, the cake "broke"
Cake inside was ok. This recipe can be re-used.
Not too sweet. Its moist.

A new poster for the home

I got a new poster for the home- to fill up the walls.
Paid RM130 for a big canvas from Canvas Street- a subsidiary of Photobook

It's slightly different from normal frame as normal frame would have a glass on it. Nevertheless, I am happy with the price I paid. I am thinking to do this every year.

To be back..

I left writing for sometime. Most of the time lazy. I rather read. Yes, I still do my daily blog reading. Reading makes me get new ideas, a note of encouragement and sometimes a learning.

I hope to be back writing more often. I decided to write today because I came back from a residential training program on "Wheel of Life". I felt very motivated and encouraged after the session. Usually, training programs that I attend only want to see output results for the company. This is something more personal.

Today is also fruits buying day at the office. Am happy to get Turkey Apricots for RM11/packet. I realised, besides eating right, I need to exercise a lot more too. A recent test result shows that my bio-age is actually 45 years old!!!! Can you imagine? That's explains my sleepiness and tiredness all the time. I will be doing some self revamping soon in terms of mental and health.

Thanks for reading :)

Peking Duck at Di-Wei, Empire Shopping Gallery

Got to know this from smallkucing.

1 Peking Duck at RM39.90. Skin part only
Then the meat, cook dishes at RM15.00
Then to make soup, RM10.00
Balance, you can ta-pau too.

Overall Di-Wei's food is not bad. Taste wise is good
But portion is small and considered fine dining.
Will only go when they have promotion otherwise its too expensive for the weekly meal.

Step 2: While waiting to be boil, cut tomatoes, ginger, rub fish with salt/pepper, sesame oil, garlic
Step 3: Put a little water in metal plate
Step 4: Put Mee-hoon
